The Treetathlon project (ROHU00467) is a cross-border initiative between Derecske (Hungary) and Biharia (Romania), aimed at promoting sustainable urban mobility and reducing traffic-related pollution.
As part of the project, 20 bicycles for adults and 30 bicycles for children have recently been delivered to each locality, marking an important step toward the implementation of the Bike4Rent system.
Together with tree planting and educational activities, the project contributes to greener cities, healthier lifestyles, and stronger community engagement. With a total budget of €1.86 million and a duration of 30 months, it supports environmentally friendly transport and improves quality of life in the border region.
