Educational materials for promoting sustainable methods in schools aimed at biodiversity and reducing the negative impact of climate change.
In May 2026 we held four interactive, experience-based school talks for 7th-grade students at Bocskai István Primary School in Derecske. Below you’ll find the downloadable teaching material and event photos for each topic.
Waste Management
The talk covered the importance of sustainable waste management, focusing on selective collection and composting, the waste hierarchy and the role of the circular economy. In the practical part, students identified types of waste bins, distinguished compostable from non-compostable materials, and put forward suggestions for improving local waste management.

Green and Blue Infrastructure
The talk presented nature-based urban development solutions and the role of green infrastructure (parks, trees, green roofs) and blue infrastructure (rivers, lakes, rain gardens) in climate adaptation. In the practical part, students identified green and water-related areas in the town, assessed their condition, and proposed development ideas.

Ecosystem Services
The interactive session presented the importance of ecosystem services and biodiversity, covering provisioning, regulating, supporting and cultural services — such as food and drinking water supply, climate regulation and pollination. In the practical part, students observed local organisms and habitats and estimated the level of local biodiversity.

Active Mobility
The talk introduced the importance of sustainable transport, covering air pollution, noise pollution, and the link between climate change and traffic, as well as the health, environmental and social benefits of active mobility — mainly walking and cycling. In the hands-on part, students assessed the condition of local pavements and cycle paths in groups.
