Regulations on the Use and Rental of Bicycles

The purpose of these regulations is to establish the conditions for the use of 50 bicycles and their related equipment (helmets and cable locks), purchased under the “Interreg RO-HU 00467 TREEATHLON” project, owned by the Municipality of Derecske (hereinafter referred to as the Lender) and stored in the town of Derecske.
These regulations apply to the Lender, as well as to organized groups that legally use the bicycles, their representatives, and the actual users (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Borrower).

The 50 bicycles owned by the Lender (including 30 children’s bicycles and 20 adult bicycles) may be used free of charge in accordance with these regulations.
The bicycles may be made available exclusively to organized groups consisting of residents of Derecske, primarily students of local educational institutions and the teachers or accompanying adults responsible for them, as well as tourists visiting the town.
Information on available time slots can be found on the project’s active platform: https://treeathlon.ro/hu/bicycle-rental-booking, where bicycles may be reserved for a maximum of one day after completing a preliminary request form.
The request form must be submitted no later than 3:00 PM on the day preceding the intended use through the platform https://treeathlon.ro/hu/bicycle-rental-booking in order to allow sufficient time for processing. Upon receipt of the request form, the Lender’s representatives will contact the Borrower to arrange the details regarding the handover and return of the bicycles.
Bicycle rentals are available during the following hours:

The Borrower is required to protect the bicycles against theft, damage, destruction, and any other form of loss or deterioration.
The Borrower is required to return the bicycles upon expiry of the period specified in the request form, in complete, clean, and serviceable condition suitable for normal use.
The Borrower is not entitled to make any structural modifications, repairs, or unauthorized interventions to the bicycles. In the event of a technical malfunction, the Borrower is obliged to inform the Lender immediately.
If the bicycles are damaged, destroyed, or lost during the period of use, the Borrower shall fully compensate the Lender for the resulting loss, including repair costs or replacement value, as applicable.

The Borrower assumes full financial and legal responsibility for any accidents or personal injuries occurring during the period of use, as well as for any damage caused to the bicycles. The Borrower is required to ensure adequate health, property, and liability insurance for themselves and all members of the group.
If the bicycles are damaged, destroyed, or lost during the period of use, the Borrower shall fully compensate the Lender for the resulting loss, including repair costs or replacement value, as applicable.
The person or group responsible for causing the damage shall be excluded from borrowing the bicycles again for a period of six (6) months from the date of the incident, without being released from their obligation to compensate for the damage.
